OUR STORY

A pillar of the company is being locally owned and operated. Serving the community in which our employees and owner lives in pushes us to be the best in the business. Our company's journey has not been an easy one but it has been extremely rewarding.

In 2011, Deep South Sanitation started out with one truck and 20 customers. Today the company services 14,000 customers and offers a large variety of services to our local communities.

Our founder, Cary Scarborough, a Hahira native, has lived and worked in Lowndes County over 50 years. He and his wife Debbie have raised their family here and been active members of the community. Cary knew Lowndes County was missing something and that was quality garbage service. He set out to create a company that put its customers and their sanitation needs first. With this desire and drive to create a company that surpassed its competitors, Deep South Sanitation was founded.

Starting out as a subscription based company means customers have the option to choose us or our competitors. Our community and those around us have shown just how supportive they are of locally owned businesses. Setting ourselves apart from the competition in every aspect of business is what has gotten us to where we are.
